Leonard’s Coffee House is a true hidden gem amongst Durham’s plentiful coffee shops and cafes.
Tucked away down beside the River Wear in Fowler’s Yard, Durham’s artistic and creative centre, Leonard’s has become a firm favourite of locals and tourists alike since first opening its doors back in 2006.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2016, Leonard’s owner and manager Ashley Jordan couldn’t have wished for better success after foregoing a career in finance for one filled with coffee and cake.
Set across two floors with an additional seating area outside to sit and enjoy the sunshine, Leonard’s is the perfect place to relax and unwind – with a generous serving of great food and great coffee.
Leonard’s prides itself on the quality of its coffee – a unique, Fairtrade blend chosen by Ashley herself and sourced from local coffee importer Pumphreys in Newcastle.
But it’s not just the coffee that causes queues out the door – an array of sweet treats are baked fresh every morning and each breakfast and lunch is hand-cooked on the premises using locally sourced produce.
Leonard’s warm atmosphere and friendly staff, make it one of Durham’s most popular eateries and a must-visit for all newcomers to the city.
Leonard's Coffee House is proud to be celebrating 10 years of business in 2016.
Our birthday celebrations are coming up soon.
